Hey there, lovely readers! I recently had the absolute pleasure of capturing the beautiful wedding of Molly and Derek at Turner Hall in the charming city of New Ulm, Minnesota. Let me take you on a journey through their special day, filled with love, laughter, and a touch of serendipity.
A Love Story That Began with a Spill and Tacos
Molly and Derek’s love story started in a way that could only be described as fate intervening. They met at a bar while hanging out with friends, and Molly, eager to catch Derek’s eye, decided to use an unconventional approach – she spilled her drink on him! Well, it worked, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Their first date was equally endearing. Derek, knowing Molly’s heart, made her tacos. Who can resist the allure of tacos, right? Derek’s proposal was another delightful surprise, as he popped the question on Molly’s birthday, presenting her with a ring before their dinner with friends. She didn’t not expect a thing, she she knew that her “real” present was yet to come – a concert the following weekend!
Brewing Love at Schell’s Brewery
Living in New Ulm, Molly and Derek often frequented the iconic Schell’s Brewery. Given that they met at a bar, it was only fitting to incorporate this special place into their big day. After a heartwarming ceremony at Turner Hall, the wedding party hopped on a trolley and headed up the hill to the brewery for some celebratory drinks, creating cherished memories at a location close to their hearts.
A Late August Dream
Their wedding day graced us with late August charm. As summer transitioned into fall, the colors of the season began to paint the landscape, setting the perfect backdrop for their celebration. The atmosphere was filled with love, laughter, and the anticipation of a beautiful journey ahead.
Elegance in Attire
Molly looked absolutely stunning in a gown from Images Bridal, while Derek was dashing in a suit from Valerie’s Bridal. The bridesmaids, all dressed in various dusty pink dresses with unique necklines, added a touch of elegance, and the groomsmen complemented the theme in gray suits.
Dance Floor Magic and Grandma’s Moves
One standout moment from Molly and Derek’s wedding was seeing Molly’s grandma take the dance floor by storm. Her energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and she had everyone on their feet, celebrating this joyous occasion. The entire wedding party and their guests brought their A-game to the dance floor, making it a night to remember.
A Bond Beyond Photography
Molly and I share a special bond as fellow elementary teachers. Our conversations often veered into the world of teaching, our students, and the memories we’ve created in our classrooms.
