Matt and Samantha joined me last weekend on the Mississippi River for their engagement session! COVID and life, in general, continued to push this session back multiple times. But we finally got to make magic happen alongside the Mississipi River and the Rock Island Swing Bridge. The sunlight and the weather were perfect! The light was peeking through the trees, leaving the most beautiful warm light wrapping us up like a blanket.
Matt and Samantha are the sweetest couple!! They are kind-hearted and just radiant positivity. You just can’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you are around them! Matt was such a good sport with all of my crazy prompts, and Samantha helped him feel at ease and at home throughout the entire session.
When we started planning their engagement session, they knew right away that they wanted to do some of the session at their favorite fishing spot: The Mississippi River! There is the most perfect spot just a few short minutes away from their house, so it worked out great. I absolutely love it when my couple brings their favorite activities they do together into their sessions! It allows their relationship to really shine during their session. It also helps them feel more comfortable and at ease. Which is what we as photographers always want to accomplish.
At one point, I even rolled up my pants and walked right on into the river. Now that fall is upon us, the water was quite chilly. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do for the perfect shot.
Matt and Samantha! I’m so glad this finally worked out for us and I can’t wait for your wedding day in a couple of weeks! I just know that it is going to be beautiful and romantic.
