An Intimate Wedding is the new normal for this year’s summer weddings. One that I am a huge fan of.
Couples this year have been through the wringer when it comes to planning their wedding. Full of highs and lows. Day after day, plans were changed. Some couples have decided to push off their wedding entirely until next year, some just went for it completely, and some couples have meshed the two options perfectly: an intimate wedding.
Britta and Aaron started my 2020 wedding season off with a bang.
Picture it:
A luscious green backyard
Perfect flowerbeds everywhere
A flowing white fabric draped over a wooden arch
Closest family and friends
Baby giggles
A beautiful bride
A handsome groom
Tears….lots of tears
And an upbeat, Father-Daughter Dance that took everyone by surprise.
When I arrived, I honestly did not know what to expect, its a backyard after all. Once I walked into the yard, my jaw almost dropped. It was perfect. The backyard seemed to be made for intimate weddings. I saw family members laughing and enjoying each other’s company. As I walked into the house to find Britta and her bridesmaids, I could just feel the hustle and bustle, but with a sense of calmness. It reminded me how much I had missed weddings. I heard baby giggles. Saw smiles and tears everywhere I looked. It was the best feeling.
Things may not have looked exactly the way that everyone had originally planned, but the feeling and emotion that was lingering were exactly what it was supposed to be. Because at the end of the day, all that really matters is that two people were joined together into one. That is what weddings are all about. Love.
It was the most magical day. I can’t wait to celebrate with these two again next year! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Ernst!
