Cate and Deon joined me last Sunday for their maternity session. Cate was beautiful. Deon was cool, calm, and collected. The sunset was gorgeous. And you could just tell how excited both Cate and Deon were for this next chapter in their life.

Pregnancy is so many things. It’s dazzling and difficult, enchanting and exhausting, isolating and unifying. As someone who just recently experienced pregnancy, I know all too well the joys and lows of growing this beautiful little human.

Where you find comfort and guidance during this monumental moment in your life is part of your journey and yours alone.

Cate and Deon, you are going to be the most amazing mom and dad to your little girl here in just a few short weeks. Sweet little girl, you are so loved already. Your momma and daddy have already done so much for you. I know one day you will look at them with those clouded teenage eyes and brain, but just always remember everything they have done for you and everything that they will continue to do for you.

Cate and Deon, embrace this moment. I know the journey has been one full of ups and downs. Some days are much harder than others, but this moment is so precious. Your life is about to change forever…in the best way possible. And like I said, I already know you are going to rock this parenthood thing.
