5 Things To Trust Your Wedding Photographer With
Trust is the key ingredient to any relationship and this goes for the relationship you have with your wedding photographer. There’s a reason you chose them to capture the most important day of your life after-all. While you may have a vision of how you want some of your images to turn out, you are going to have to put a lot of trust in your photographer. Trusting your photographer in these 5 areas will result in better images for you to remember your big day. It will also relieve you of some stress as well. And we don’t want our bride to more stressed, especially on her wedding day. There are some things, that you should just trust others with. That is their job after-all.
1. Choosing the Location of the Shot
As your wedding photographer I have taken the time to familiarize myself with your reception location or areas around your ceremony site to find the best places to photograph. I always look for the best light and where the best scenery is.
2. Time of Day to Shoot
Lighting is key to creating beautiful images and using the natural light of the sun will produce the best lighting setting but that doesn’t mean any time of the day will give you the same results. While your wedding day is full of timelines and sometimes there are things that just need to happen at a certain time; your ceremony, dinner, etc. As your photographer, I know what time of day will be best to take those gorgeous outdoor shots that won’t leave harsh shadows on your face or when to sneak outside to take some night inspired shots. I create a personalized Wedding Day Timeline just for your big day that will help lay out exactly when these big moments will take place. We work together to create this timeline to make sure it is a seamless as possible.
3. Poses
Trust your photographer to know what pose is the most flattering for you. I can see how the light is illuminating you and what is in the background. Yes I will take your picture ideas into consideration but, I also have a vault of go to poses that will have you and your spouse having fun and feeling relaxed, which are the most flattering poses.
4. Editing Your Photos
Trust your photographer’s creative eye during the editing process. I know which images will look best in black and white, color, cropped and which ones to add special effects to, if any. Trust me to use my skills to make each image stunning. Editing is one of my favorite parts of my job, other than working with my amazing clients. I have my style latched down tight so that you know exactly what you are going to receive in your gallery.
5. Handling Printing Your Photos
As your photographer, I know where to get prints made. I work with a reputable printing company in the Twin Cities. The worst thing you can do is have a stunning image, order a large print and find the colors are off, the image is blurred or it looks dull. This happens more often than not when couples take their wedding images to a local WalMart or Walgreen. These printers are not correctly calibrated and don’t have the quality machines that a professional printer does. It may cost you a little bit more, but it’s worth it when your wedding images are perfect. Part of your wedding package is knowing where to get your prints made, what size they should be and which ones will look best in your albums, wall art or thank you cards. Trust me, printing pictures is a big deal. And please print your images!!
