Kyrie & Tyler | Torrey’s Event Center in Owatonna, MN

Kyrie and I go way back. We grew up out in the country, rode the same school bus, and shared so many of those small-town childhood memories. So when she reached out to have me photograph her wedding in Owatonna, MN, it felt like life had come full circle. Seeing her marry her longtime love, Tyler, with their sweet kids by their side, was incredibly special to capture.

Some wedding days are just extra close to the heart—and this one truly was.

Their wedding took place at Torey’s Event Center, a beautiful and welcoming venue right in the heart of Owatonna, MN. With its cozy yet elegant feel, it was the perfect space for the simple, family-centered celebration they envisioned. Every part of the day, from the quiet getting-ready moments to the colorful, joy-filled exit, was filled with love, intention, and connection.

The Look

Kyrie wore a stunning Christian Siriano gown from Azazie, complete with a custom belt and sleeves that added such a soft, unique touch. Her bridesmaids wore rich maroon dresses from Azazie, while Tyler and the groomsmen were sharp in grey suits from Graif. Their color palette of grey and red was elegant and warm, perfect for a late summer wedding in southern Minnesota.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held right on site at Torey’s Event Center in Owatonna, MN, making for a seamless and relaxed transition between all the day’s events. One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony was when Kyrie’s son and daughter walked her down the aisle. That moment, filled with emotion and pride, perfectly reflected the heart of this entire day: family.

During the unity ceremony, the four of them poured different colored sand into one container, each color representing a member of their family. It was a powerful visual of the life they’ve already built together. And as if that wasn’t emotional enough, they surprised their niece by playing a special song she had recorded. She didn’t know her voice would be part of the ceremony, and the moment she recognized it? Pure magic.

The Reception

The reception was laid-back and full of joy. Instead of traditional parent dances, Kyrie and Tyler had a family dance with their children, another perfect example of how centered the day was around their real, everyday love.

As the sun dipped low, we stepped outside for golden hour portraits. Then came one of my favorite parts of the day, a sparkler and color bomb exit surrounded by all their favorite people. They didn’t care that their clothes got splattered with paint. They were too busy laughing, hugging, and soaking in every second.
