Leah and Andrew’s wedding day at Ahavah Cottage in Elysian, MN, was nothing short of a fairytale, filled with faith, elegance, and an unwavering commitment to one another. I had the absolute pleasure of capturing every beautiful moment of their day at the picturesque Ahavah Cottage, a venue that perfectly mirrored their love story.
How it Started
Leah and Andrew’s journey began in a rather unique way at the fitness gym where Andrew worked as a personal trainer and Leah was a regular. Initially, Leah thought Andrew’s name was Brooks, thanks to his friends always calling him by his last name. Weeks later, when Leah started mentioning an Andrew to her friends, the mix-up was hilariously revealed—they were talking about the same person! Their story is a testament to the serendipitous and playful nature of love. Eventually, Andrew proposed after a breathtaking hike in Redwood Falls, right by a stunning waterfall at the top of the trail.
The Perfect Wedding Day
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. With the sun shining brightly and a gentle breeze keeping everyone comfortable, Leah and Andrew exchanged vows outside. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet filled with an unmistakable sense of spiritual connection and love. Ahavah Cottage, with its enchanting outdoor space and inviting patio, provided the ideal setting for both the ceremony and reception.
The Ahavah Cottage Ceremony and Reception
Leah and Andrew chose Ahavah Cottage not just for its beauty but for its intimate outdoor setting and fantastic bar, which kept the celebrations lively and enjoyable.
Leah looked absolutely stunning in her Stella York gown from Raffine Bridal. The intricate lace details and elegant silhouette perfectly complemented her graceful demeanor. Meanwhile, Andrew and his groomsmen wore navy pants with white button-down shirts from Lululemon, creating a sharp and sophisticated look. The bridesmaids looked lovely in light blue dresses from Birdy Grey, adding a soft and romantic touch to the wedding palette.
Special Traditions and Moments
During the ceremony, Leah and Andrew performed a deeply moving unity ceremony by braiding a cord of three strands. This act symbolized their marriage and Christian faith, with the three strands representing God, Leah, and Andrew coming together as one. This beautiful and poignant reminder of the strength and unity in their relationship was a highlight of the day.
Scoops Ice Cream
One of the standout moments of the day was the dessert. Leah, a true ice cream connoisseur, was over the moon to have Scoops Ice Cream from Elysian cater their desserts. I’ve always wanted to see one of my couples choose Scoops for their wedding, so this was a real treat for me as well! Watching Leah and Andrew share a special moment together, picking their favorite flavors and enjoying the sweet treat in a private moment, was heartwarming and unforgettable.
Thank you
Leah and Andrew, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your incredible day. Your wedding was a beautiful reflection of your love, faith, and commitment to each other. From the heartfelt ceremony to the joyous reception, every moment was filled with love and laughter. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and adventures together. Congratulations once again!
