Katrina and Ian’s wedding in Faribault, Minnesota, was a beautiful blend of class, elegance, and rustic charm. Their story is a modern-day romance with a touch of serendipity and a lot of love. Let me take you through their magical day at the 3 Ten Event Center.
The Beginning of Their Love Story
Katrina and Ian met on Hinge, a dating app, with their search radii set to 50 miles. Fate played its part when Katrina was traveling through the cities for a bachelorette weekend, and Ian was working in the same area. They started chatting via text, FaceTime, and phone for over a month. Then, Ian, eager to meet in person, suggested they either meet up or move on. Despite her long hours as a nurse during the Covid pandemic, Katrina invited Ian to be her plus one to a friend’s wedding where she was a bridesmaid. Their first real date was at Knoke’s Chocolate in Hudson, which was the start of their sweet journey together. Ian proposed at their favorite lookout spot in Hudson, Birkmose Park, overlooking the St. Croix River.
3 Ten Event Center
Katrina and Ian chose the 3 Ten Event Center for both their ceremony and reception. The historic, modern, and elegant atmosphere of the venue captivated them. The venue’s story and ambiance, coupled with the rooftop bar and patio, made it the perfect setting for their special day.
The Wedding Day
The day began with the bridal party getting ready in the chic rooms of the 3 Ten Event Center. Katrina looked absolutely stunning in her lace Essence of Australia wedding gown from Raffine’s Bridal in Woodbury, MN. The bridesmaids complemented her perfectly in velvet dark green dresses, also from Raffine’s Bridal. Ian looked dashing in his sleek tan tux from Graif Clothing in Mankato, MN. The color palette of dark green was chosen for its classy and elegant vibe, a color that both Katrina and Ian love.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was held at the 3 Ten Event Center’s rooftop loft, under a clear blue sky. The historic and modern elements of the venue provided a breathtaking backdrop as Katrina walked down the aisle. The love and happiness between Katrina and Ian were palpable as they exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Unique Touches
One of the standout details of the wedding was the coffee mug display. Both Katrina and Ian are avid coffee lovers and have a passion for collecting unique and funky mugs. They searched high and low to find the perfect mugs for each of their wedding guests, which made for a memorable and personalized touch.
The Reception
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a laid-back and joyous reception at the same venue. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, with the rooftop bar providing a stunning view as the sun began to set. Special dances and heartfelt speeches filled the evening with emotion and joy.
As the night progressed, we took advantage of the beautiful golden hour for sunset portraits. This is always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day, as it gives the newlyweds a moment to relax and bask in the joy of being husband and wife. The white wall behind the venue was in full glory, making it the perfect backdrop for their portraits.
